Fielding H. Yost

Fielding Harris Yost was an American football player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Ohio Wesleyan University , the University of NebraskaLincoln , the University of Kansas , Stanford University , San Jose State University , and the University of Michigan , compiling a career college football record of 1983512. During hisseasons as the head football coach in Ann Arbor, Yosts Michigan Wolverines won six national championships, captured ten Big Ten Conference titles, and amassed a record of 1652910.

Yost was born in Fairview, West Virginia, in April 1871. He was the oldest of four children of Parmenus Wesley Yost and Elzena Jane Yost , both natives of West Virginia. His father was a farmer.
